Event description:

The Elephant Bar Deadlift for Reps is a test of raw power, grip strength, and endurance. This iconic strongman event challenges athletes to lift a massive barbell, known for its flexibility and imposing length, as many times as possible within a set 60-second time frame. We’re thrilled to announce that our amazing equipment sponsors, Kinta, will be supplying their brand-new Elephant Bar for this event, adding an extra level of intensity to the competition.

For our competition, the Elephant Bar will be set at a standard barbell height, and the specific weights for each athlete and division are listed below. All athletes will have just 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible, making every moment count.

The additional event details will primarily focus on how the competition will look and feel on the day, ensuring an electrifying atmosphere without impacting your training preparations. Minimum Starting weights:

Strongwomen:

U64kg - 110kg

U73kg - 130kg

U82kg - 150kg

Open - 170kg

Masters Strongwoman (40+) - 130kg

Strongmen:

U80kg - 210kg

U90kg - 230kg

U105kg - 250kg

Open - 270kg

Masters Strongman (40+) - 230kg

SPECIFIC RULES :

  • Athletes MUST, lock out knees and hips then show control of the implement at the top for the lift to be deemed successful.

  • Maximum use of 2 belts (1 soft belt + 1 hard belt) 

  • Deadlift Suit permitted

  • Other equipment allowed: knee sleeves/wraps , wrist wraps and figure 8&9 straps. 

  • Athletes MUST wait for the down call from the REF to have a rep count.

  • Excessive bouncing or “touch and go deadlifts” will not be permitted. there must be a distinct start and end of each deadlift rep.

    ie. If an athlete slams the weight down with excessive force into the floor to receive some form of aid in following deadlift rep

  • Athletes only have 60 seconds to perform as many reps as possible. if the time finished before the referee gives the “DOWN” command for a lift it will not be counted.
