2. Beach Carry Medley

Strength meets endurance in this grueling medley! Athletes will race across the sand, carrying four different objects. Each implement presents its own unique challenge, with the fastest time to finish claiming victory. This event is as unpredictable as it is exciting!

Rules:

  • Athletes will carry four Kinta sandbags across a 15m beach track in the fastest time possible.

  • Sandbags must be fully across the finish line before being dropped.

  • Athletes may shoulder the sandbags while running.

  • Sandbags can be carried in any order the athlete prefers, but scoring will only track the number of sandbags successfully carried across the finish line.

  • No grip shirts allowed.

3. Clash of the Stones (Stone-to-Shoulder)

A true test of strength, strategy, and endurance. A series of stones, each progressively heavier, will challenge competitors to lift them to their shoulders within a limited time cap. Scoring is straightforward but intense: heaviest stone successfully lifted to the shoulder will outrank any number of lighter stones lifted. That means a single rep with the heaviest stone will always beat any combination of lighter ones.

Remember, it's not just about power—it's about precision, knowing when to push your limits and when to hold back. The smartest athlete will rise to the top in this thrilling event!

Rules:

Athletes will have a 2-minute time cap to complete as many repetitions as possible or lift the heaviest stone possible to their shoulder.

  • Only one stone may be lifted at a time.

  • You can plan your lifts in any order or change attempts anytime. They will be all laid out in front of you.

  • The heaviest stone lifted beats any number of lighter stone reps.

  • A successful lift requires:

    • The athlete to fully stabilise the stone on their shoulder.

    • The opposite hand must be clearly off the stone to show control.

    • Once controlled, the athlete must receive a down command from the referee before dropping the stone safely.

  • No intentional drops behind the athlete—stones must be dropped in front to ensure safety

  • Tacky or any none chalk grip aid is not permitted.

  • Chalk is permitted

  • No grip shirts allowed.

  • Lifting within your means is critical. While brute strength is essential, strategy will decide the champion—the smartest athlete will come out on top.

4. Press Ladder – Axle and Log Challenge

A true test of upper body strength and explosive power. Athletes will tackle a press ladder featuring alternating implements: axle, log, axle, and log. The quickest and most powerful lifter will dominate this event!

Athletes must press a series of implements (Axle, Log, Axle, Log) in ascending weight order.

  • Implements must be pressed overhead to full lockout with control before moving to the next.

  •  athletes must wait for the down command from the referee. The referee will be looking for locked, elbows, knees hips and for both feet to be aligned. This means if you are performing any split to Jaxon, you are required to bring your feet together before the referee gives you a down cool.

  •  strictly no belt cleans are allowed. If a referee sees a belt clean, they will yell out to the athlete “belt clean” and the athlete will be required to perform that clean again.

  • Fastest time to complete all presses wins.

  • If an athlete cannot complete all presses, the number of successful lifts will count.

  • Time cap: 75 seconds.

  •  split times are recorded from each successful down command given by the referee.

  •  equipment not allowed:  any non chalk based grip aids.
